Jade Refillery is a planet-friendly weigh & pay shop based in Jasper National Park -- the heart of the Canadian Rockies.

As long time Jasper residents, we are passionate about protecting the Earth and its most sacred spaces. Jade Refillery is our way of providing Jasper locals and our millions of visitors with sustainable options for cleaning and personal care products.

When we started Jade Refillery in July 2020, we were inspired by Anne-Marie Bonneau’s quote:

"We don't need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly."

That's what Jade is about: progress over perfection. During the pandemic, we faced additional challenges in reducing our reliance on single-use plastics, but we continued to make small strides and conscious choices, just as we are today.

The planet doesn't need us to be perfect, but it does need us to try. At Jade, we provide opportunities to reduce plastic consumption, reuse what we have and refill instead of buying new.

FUN FACT: In less than nine months, Jasper saved more than 2,000 plastic containers from the landfill by refilling existing containers with eco-friendly products from Jade Refillery.

Meet the Owner

  • Beth LeBlanc

You know that saying: If you want something done, ask a busy person to do it. That perfectly describes Beth. She is Jade’s owner and operator, the manager of Community Outreach Services, an avid volunteer, a mother of two busy teenage boys and a wife to the love of her life, Chris.

Beth is a dreamer and a doer. When she gets an idea, she grabs hold of it and rides it through to the end. That's exactly how Jade came to be and it's how we continue to grow to this day. Beth loves researching and testing new products, spending time in the shop, talking to people about refilleries and helping our community reduce its reliance on single-use plastics.

What’s in a name?

But why Jade?

When we were dreaming up names for this venture, our dogs were scurrying at our feet, wiggling their way onto our laps and giving us occasional nudges, reminding us to walk away from the computer and head out for a walk.

We are dog people through and through.

Beth’s first dog, who passed away in 2017, was named Jade. To keep Jade’s positive energy and comforting presence with us on every step of this journey, we named our business after her.
